How to subscribe, cancel or restore Steady Pro

Updated 2026-10-18

Steady Pro unlocks days 4 to 28 of Steady 28, the Intermediate, Advanced and Long holds sessions, and up to 10 routines in Your routines, where you save sessions with your own timings. You can subscribe yearly, with a 7-day free trial if Google Play offers you one, or monthly, with no free trial, or pay once for lifetime. You pay through Google Play, and you can change or cancel a subscription in Google Play at any time. Days 1 to 3 of Steady 28, Beginner, Quick squeezes, Relax set and your first routine stay free either way, and so do reminders, your daily goal and your streak settings.

There are no ads in either. Under "Plan your training your way", the Steady Pro screen lists what Pro adds in three rows: Steady 28, days 4 to 28 ("The rest of week 1, then weeks 2 to 4: a set session for each day"), Intermediate, Advanced and Long holds ("Move up a level whenever you choose") and Your own routines, up to 10 ("1 routine is free. With Pro, keep up to 10 of your own on this phone"). See How does Steady 28 work? and How to make your own routine.

When you've done day 3 of Steady 28 without Pro, the home screen shows a card once: "Days 1–3 are done. Days 4–28 are part of Steady Pro." Tap See Pro to open the Steady Pro screen; the card stays until you tap Later. Later hides it for good, and it's gone for good once you have Pro. It has no countdown.

After your first session

The first time you tap Finish after a session, the Steady Pro screen opens by itself. This happens once. After that, it opens only when you choose to: for example when you tap something with a lock, See Pro on the day-3 card, or Steady Pro in Settings. It doesn't open if you already have Pro.

  • Yearly is chosen, and its price per year is the largest price on the screen. Monthly and Lifetime show their prices too, one tap away.
  • With Yearly chosen, a line says how much less it costs than 12 months of Monthly, for example "Save" and a percentage "against monthly". Steady works it out from the two prices Google Play shows, and leaves the line out when it can't.
  • If Google Play offers you a free trial, three lines show what happens when: "Today: Pro unlocks, no charge", "Day 5: Steady reminds you, if notifications are on", and "Day 7:" with the yearly price "for one year unless you cancel in Google Play". The button says Start 7-day free trial.
  • If Google Play offers no trial, the screen says "No free trial on this plan. Google Play charges you today." and the button says Subscribe.
  • Not now sits right under that button, just as large, with "Free sessions stay free" under it. Tap Not now or the back arrow to go to the home screen. Nothing is bought, and the free sessions, days 1 to 3 and your first routine keep working.

Subscribe or buy Pro

  1. Do your first session with any free session, for example Steady 28 day 1. Pro sessions open only after it: before then, tapping a session under Steady Pro or a Steady 28 day with a lock shows "Try a session first". Tap OK to close it.
  2. On the home screen, tap a session under Steady Pro (the label shows a lock until you have Pro) or a Steady 28 day with a lock, or tap Settings at the top and then Steady Pro under Purchases. This opens the Steady Pro screen.
  3. Choose Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime. Each shows its price in your currency, as Google Play sets it. They sit side by side, or one under another when they don't fit, for example with large text. Yearly is chosen to begin with: tap another to change it. Under the choice, a box shows that plan's price, any free trial and how it renews. For Yearly, it also shows how much you save against Monthly, when Steady can work that out from Google Play's prices. For Monthly, or Yearly when Google Play offers you no trial, it says "No free trial on this plan. Google Play charges you today."
  4. Tap the button under the box. It says what it does for the plan you chose: Start 7-day free trial, Subscribe or Buy once. Google Play opens and shows the price, any free trial and the date of the first payment.
  5. Confirm in Google Play. Pro unlocks as soon as Google Play confirms the purchase, and the Pro plans no longer show a lock.

To leave the Steady Pro screen without buying, tap Not now or the back arrow at the top.

Steady has no account. Your purchase belongs to the Google account you use in the Play Store.

How the free trial works

  • Only the yearly subscription has a free trial: 7 days, if Google Play offers one to your Google account. If you've had a trial of Steady Pro before, Google Play may not offer another. Google Play shows whether you get one before you confirm.
  • The monthly subscription has no free trial. Google Play charges you the day you subscribe, then each month until you cancel.
  • You're not charged during the trial.
  • When the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts, and Google Play charges the price you saw. After that, it renews each year until you cancel.
  • To avoid being charged, cancel before the trial ends. You won't be charged, and Pro stays on until the trial's end date.
  • While the trial runs, the Steady Pro row in Settings shows "Trial ends on" and the date, instead of Active on this phone.
  • Two days before the trial ends, Steady sends one notification with the end date and "Change or cancel in Google Play." Tap it to open your subscription in the Play Store. Steady sends it only if it's already allowed to send notifications: it never asks for that permission for this. If you cancel before then, it doesn't come.
  • If Steady can't tell when your trial ends, for example after you reinstall it, Settings shows no date and no notification comes. Google Play always shows the date under Payments & subscriptions.

The lifetime option has no trial. You pay once, and it never renews.

Change or cancel your subscription

Cancel in Google Play. Uninstalling Steady doesn't cancel a subscription.

From Steady: tap Settings at the top of the home screen, then Change or cancel in Google Play under Purchases. It opens your Steady subscription in the Play Store.

From the Play Store app:

  1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Steady, then Cancel subscription, and follow the steps.

Menu names can vary a little between Play Store versions. After you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. Then Pro turns off, and the free sessions keep working. All your saved routines stay in Your routines: nothing is deleted. The first routine you saved still starts; the others show a lock until Pro is back. You can still edit or delete any of them.

If you buy lifetime while you have a subscription, the subscription doesn't stop by itself. Cancel it in Google Play so it doesn't renew.

Restore Pro on a new phone or after reinstalling

Pro follows your Google account, not your phone.

  1. On the new phone, sign in to the Play Store with the Google account you bought Pro with.
  2. Install Steady and open it. Steady checks Google Play and unlocks Pro by itself.
  3. If the Pro plans still show a lock, tap Settings at the top of the home screen, then Restore purchases under Purchases. Steady checks again and tells you the result.

Restoring brings back Pro, not your training history or routines. To bring those, save a backup on the old phone and restore it on the new one. See How to export, back up and restore your Steady data.

Refunds

Refunds go through Google Play's refund policy. Shortly after a purchase, you may be able to ask for a refund directly in Google Play. If that's no longer possible, contact us at the support address on Steady's Google Play listing. Include the order number from Google Play's receipt email. It starts with "GPA.". We don't need anything else.

If a purchase is refunded, Pro turns off. The free sessions keep working.

Troubleshooting

Restore purchases didn't bring Pro back

  • Check which Google account the Play Store is using. Tap your profile picture in the Play Store. It needs to be the account you bought Pro with.
  • Make sure your phone is connected to the internet, so Steady can reach Google Play. Then tap Restore purchases again.
  • If the subscription was cancelled and its paid period has ended, or the purchase was refunded, there's nothing to restore.

It says my payment is pending

Some payment methods take time to go through. Pro unlocks when Google Play tells Steady that the payment is complete. You don't need to buy again.

Google Play says there's a problem with my payment

Google Play couldn't take a renewal payment. It usually tries again for a while. In the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, and update your payment method. If the payment isn't fixed, the subscription ends and Pro turns off.

I was charged after my free trial

The trial turns into a paid subscription unless it's cancelled before the trial ends. Cancel now to stop the next renewal. To ask about a refund for the payment, see Refunds above.
